Supporting the Program

There are two major ways that alumni, parents, and fans can support the UCSD Men's Lacrosse Team - with direct contributions to the team and through the Triton Lacrosse Association.

Direct Contributions

Direct contributions to the team can come in the form of financial gifts, sponsorship via the Wish List, donations to an endowment, or establiment of a scholarship.

  • Financial Gifts - Gifts given directly to the team are expended at the discretion of the coaching staff and the student leadership of the lacrosse club to meet the current needs of the team.
  • Wish List - The UCSD Men's Lacrosse Team maintains a list of equipment needs that the team is required to purchase. Fulfilling the team's needs provides equipment that the team would otherwise go without or with equipment that would alternatively be paid for with the team's budget, effectively reducing the cost of playing to the individual players.
  • Endowment - With a gift of $1,000 (total sum of a single or multiple donations), an unnamed endowment can be established in the interest of the team's long-term financial health. Named endowments can be established with gift of $10,000 or more.
  • Establishment of a Scholarship - Named annual scholarships can be established in any amount with a commitment to fund the scholarship for a minimum of four years. Named endowed scholarships can be established with a donation of $25,000 or more. All scholarships can be awarded on a basis of need, merit, or a combination of both.

The TLA

Contributions to the Triton Lacrosse Association (TLA) are managed and expended at the discretion of a UCSD Lacrosse alumni group. The TLA is responsible for the organization of the Annual Alumni Game as well as supporting the program in ways the alumni see fit, taking into the consideration the needs of the team.

For the 2005-06 season, the TLA has already made some sizeable contributions in support of the Annual Alumni Game scheduled for November 5th. All donations made to the TLA will be used to offset the costs sponsoring the Hall of Fame dinner as well as other short and long-term goals.
